Balloo Hire Digging For Success

29 July 2011
Local company, Balloo Hire has announced the completion of a deal worth £500,000 which it believes will further position it as the leading provider of plant, tools and equipment in Northern Ireland.
The deal has seen Balloo purchase 20 excavators from Ballynahinch based plant equipment business, Rogan Plant.
Taking receipt of the final three excavators, Paul Lavery, Managing Director of Balloo Hire Centres said; "Business is growing, and we are experiencing steady demand for these excavators from a number of sectors, not just the traditional construction and civil engineering areas and we are confident that trend will continue."
The three Kubota U48-4 five tonne machines were delivered recently to Balloo Hire’s Lisburn depot, along with 17 KX71-3 three tonne machines.
Brian Rea from Rogan Plant commented, "We are obviously delighted with the order which demonstrates that despite the challenging economic climate there is still a lot of business out there. These Kubota U48-4 machines are very popular with operators, as they are robust, easy to handle, extremely versatile and ideal for working in restricted areas."
The Kubota machines are not the only recent equipment acquisitions by Balloo Hire, with the purchase of additional lifting and access equipment raising the total investment in 2011 to more than £2m.
Balloo Hire is also tapping into the recent trend of home improvement, which has seen 75 per cent of people in Northern Ireland opting to carry out work on their properties, rather than selling and buying a new home, according to recently published research by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. As a result, Balloo’s DIY hire sales are up by 30 per cent.
