Balloo Hire supporting Chest Heart and Stroke NI

Balloo Hire is proud to support Chest Heart and Stroke as its chosen charity for 2017

Balloo Hire Centres have named Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stoke (NICHS)as their Charity of the Year. We will fundraise for the charity to raise much-needed funds for local services and raising awareness with our staff and customers.

NICHS strive to prevent chest, heart and stroke illnesses and care for those already affected by them. Its support groups and programmes provide a listening ear, emotional support and practical advice or signposting to people and their families and carers affected by chest, heart and stroke conditions. Statistics show that almost 40% of all adult deaths in Northern Ireland are caused by chest, heart or stroke illnesses and that over 200,000 people are living with these conditions.

“Balloo Hire is delighted to support a local charity throughout 2017, and our company’s employees will be invited to participate in a range of fundraising activities. Money raised will go towards funding NICHS vital support services for those affected by the life changing conditions and their families in Northern Ireland” said Terry McAviney, Sales Manager at Balloo Hire.

General Manager at Balloo Hire, Mark Grundy, added, “We are thrilled to be partnering with NICHS and supporting their valuable work this year. We look forward to working closely with the charity and hope that through the commitment and enthusiasm of our employees our fundraising will raise much-needed funds to individuals and families affected by chest heart and stroke conditions.”

Balloo Hire employees will take part in health and wellbeing work shops throughout the year, aswell as other exciting fundraising activities.

Sinead Lynch, Senior Corporate Fundraising Executive from NICHS said “It’s great to see the energy from the Balloo Hire team and we are looking forward to visiting all of the company’s sites and planning our fundraising activities together. They are already keen to participate in our Health Checks Programme and have hopes to participate in an abseil which is very exciting.”
