Powered Access Manager Colin Magee, is hanging up his Company vehicle keys for one working week – beginning this Monday 19 June to Friday 23 June 2023. Colin will be saddling up for a cycle to work fundraiser to raise money for Balloo Hire Centres long term charity, Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke.

Colin’s cycle route to work will embark through a 44-mile roundtrip each day for 5 days, riding a pedal assist mountain bike. Coming from the foothills of Dromara Mountain, the scenic routes will include the iconic cycle path along the River Lagan, along Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park, Stranmillis Embankment, towards Ormeau Embankment and then ending at the Lagan Weir, onwards to Balloo Hire Belfast HQ.

Gearing up for his upcoming fundraiser, Colin Magee, Powered Access Manager at Balloo Hire Centres said; “I want to set myself a challenge to not only raise some much-needed funds to our very credible company charity but to also help promote sustainable means of travel to and from work”.

Balloo are invested in providing wellbeing opportunities for our staff and we annually invest in the charities employee well checks and will continue to do so. Balloo Hire/ Briggs promote an active lifestyle to our employees and will show Colin support by kindly matching monies raised for this great fundraiser.

Steph Ellis, Corporate Fundraiser at Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke says; “We are very thankful to Colin for taking on this brilliant challenge in support of us. The effort and dedication shown by Colin is amazing and we wish him all the best for next week.”

“Today, there are up to 470,000 people living with a chest, heart or stroke condition in Northern Ireland - that's one in three of the population. Almost 90% of NICHS’s care and prevention services and research projects are funded exclusively by donations so fundraising efforts like Colin’s are vital for our charity and what we can achieve. The funds raised will enable us to continue to help the local community and provide life-changing services for people living with chest, heart and stroke conditions and their families.”
